AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course: Get Certified for 2 year certification

Textbook ISBN: 978-1-61669-768-6. The required textbook is included in the cost of tuition and will be provided to students during the course.

 

Course Description and Outcomes BLS Provider course:

 

♥ 1-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child, and infant
♥ 2-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child, and infant

♥ Current science from American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care include:
♥ Critical concepts of high-quality CPR
♥ American Heart Association Chain of Survival
♥ Differences between adult, child, and infant rescue techniques

♥ Bag-mask techniques for adult, child, and infant

♥ Rescue breathing for adult, child, and infant

♥ Relief of choking for adult, child, and infant

♥ CPR with an advanced airway

♥ Students must score 84% or higher on the written exam and demonstrate skills proficiency.

Online cognitive portion can be completed any time the student can log on to the course.

Only one live classroom day on the last day for approximately 45 minutes.

 

Recommended for:

Recommended to healthcare students who are either new or renewing their basic life support certification. Adult, Child and Infant resuscitation skills are covered.

 

Part 1: Online completion of course

 

Part 2: On campus skills evaluation in classroom

 

 

DAY 1: Part 1 – Zoom orientation (no physical class until the last day). Student verification to receive online link to course.

 

DAY 2-4: Students complete online work at home on your own schedule at your convenience. It takes an average of 3.5 hours.

 

LAST DAY: Part 2 - 30 - 45 minutes on campus skills evaluation in classroom. E-cards are issued after successful completion of part 2.
